According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province’s export turnover in the first quarter of 2014 was USD174 million, decreasing by 47% year-on-year. The reason was that Hyundai Vinashin exported any ships while 6 ships worth nearly USD183 million were exported by this factory in the first quarter last year.

Export of all local economic sectors saw a growth of 27%. Value of the export also made increase. Specifically, seafood: USD94 million, textile garment: USD18 million, handicrafts: approximately USD7 million, coffee: USD32.3 million and cashew nuts: USD1.4 million.
Import turnover of the whole province in the first quarter was USD140 million, rising by 42% year-on-year.
