Growing well

In 2013, Khanh Hoa has 122 exporting enterprises with main products such as seafood, ships, sand, coffee, wood shavings, handicrafts and garment. Ships and seafood make up 80% of the export turnover. In the difficult situation of the economy, export is still a strong point of the province. The export turnover of the province reached more than USD1 billion, exceeding the target by USD800 million. To support export, banks have poured more lending into export, one of preferential fields now.

In BIDV - Khanh Hoa Branch, till December 31, 2013, loans for import export reached USD24.3 million, making up 20% of corporate loans and 16% of the branch’s total loans. In early 2014, lending for export has kept rising. Till March 20, 2014, the figure reached USD48.8 million, making up 38% of corporate loans and 32% of the branch’s total loans.

From the beginning of the year to March 24, Vietinbank – Khanh Hoa Branch, loans for import export achieved VND2,701 billion, making up 46% of the branch’s total loans.

Loans for export see a good growth thanks to good operation of import export enterprises, stable market and reliable payment. Additionally, import and export also create profit from foreign exchange, trade sponsorship fee, international for banks. Therefore, most banks attach importance to this field.

 

Many preferential treatments

Banks give preferential treatments to lending for import and export such as capital, low interest rates, low banking fees and diversified services. Banks also combine with foreign banks to transfer money fast and limit risk in payment.

According to the representative of Eximbank – Nha Trang Branch, the bank is offering a preferential rate of 4.5%/year to export loans. At present, the bank mainly made lending for seafood export and it is expanding to other industries.

BIDV – Khanh Hoa Branch also has some preferential programs for export lending till end 2014 such as an interest rate of 3.2%/year for under-3-month term and 3.7%/year for 3 – 6 month term in USD; 7.5%/year for under-3-month term and 8%/year for 3 – 6 month term.
