Decorative plants has recently become great favorite of many people. Accordingly, the market of this kind of products has grown fast in many places, including Nha Trang.
Nguyen Van Hai, living in Lam Son Street, Nha Trang, said that he just bought three plants worth VND2 million to decorate his house. “The plants make my small house look airy and greener. Caring them everyday also gives me a relaxed feeling”, confided he.
In a 30 sq.m. garden of Vu Thanh Tam, a retired man living in Luong The Vinh Street, Phuoc Long Ward, Nha Trang, there are tens of ornamental trees and over 100 orchid pots. “Collecting ornament plants has become my hobby since I got retired. I have poured about VND100 million into the garden.”

Not only in families, ornamental plants are used for decoration in many offices. Vu Thi Van, who’s working in the provincial Labor Union, shared that an pretty flower pot, costing only from VND20,000 to VND50,000, can beautify her working desk and bring her a fresh feeling.
In company with the rising demand, decorative plant market has become busier. At present, there are about 20 places selling this kind of products. According to owner of a Minh Khai ornament plant garden, located at 105B Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Phuoc Hoa Ward, he has invested nearly VND10 billion into the garden which features around 1,000 kinds of plants, costing from VND10,000 up to hundreds of VND. “I hire 15 workers to take care of the plants and pay each of them VND3 million a month. Each day, about 200 customers buy our products. After deducting expenses, I can earn about VND20 million a month”, he revealed.
Beside trading, such places supply services of cultivation and design for home gardens. They often charge VND2 – 10 million for each work.
