Britmar Group studies investment in Van Phong Economic Zone

The Deputy Secretary of Party Commiittee and Chairman of People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province Nguyen Chien Thang on October 17 hosted a reception for representatives from Britain-based Britmar Group that were in a visit of the province to study investment into Van Phong Economic Zone.

 

At the meeting, Nguyen Chien Thang introduced the current development of Van Phong Economic Zone to the British investors. The chairman confirmed that the provincial authority will facilitate Britmar Group’s investment in Van Phong.

According to Britmar representatives, projects the group takes most interest in are thermo-electric plant, oil refinery and petrochemicals, transit port and Cam Ranh International Airport upgrade.

 

Reportedly, Van Phong Economic Zone has been planned to feature three thermo-electric plants with 6,000MW in total capacity and an oil refinery plant with 10 million of oil per year. To ensure a comprehensive development for Van Phong Economic Zone, the provincial People’s Committee has also started building two 15-hectare resettlement areas here.
