Van Phong Terminal thriving

So far this year, Van Phong Terminal, located in Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province has showed satisfactory results. The terminal not only has drawn new clients but its warehouse occupation and flow also have risen remarkably.

So far this year, Van Phong Terminal (VPT), located in Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province has showed satisfactory results. The terminal not only has drawn new clients but its warehouse occupation and flow also have risen remarkably.

 

According to VPT report, till end September 2014, the company received 37 ships for stocking in and stocked out form 236 ships. So, its input was 1.8 million tons and output was 1.6 million tons. At present, hired warehouse capacity is estimated 60% the total figure a month. In comparison with the same period last year, operation of VPT has grown well. Specifically, hired warehouse capacity made a 3-time increase, ship flow went up 5 times. This is a heartening progress, contributing the general development of the province.

 

 

In 2014, beside keeping the traditional client Petrolimex, VPT has signed new contracts with two new foreign clients, namely Luckoil (Russia) and Petrolimex Singapore, Tran Vu Giang, deputy director of VPT, said about the reason accounting for the growth this year. Luckoil signed 90,000 m3 of warehouse from March to September, 2014. Having confidence in VPT’s operation, the Russian company has signed another contract valid till September, 2016. Petrolimex Singapore also is hiring 125,000 m3 of VPT warehouse.

 

Another reason was the company’s success in making up and put petrol and oil into the market in mid 2014. This not only has improved business result of VPT but is expected to make more contribution to the State budget and lower prices of imported petroleum. To make up petrol and oil, VPT has made good preparations in infrastructures, machines and human resource.

 

Besides, to diversify purchasers, from early 2014, VPT has invested to build a port of issuing petroleum by land, costing VND30 billion totally. The port is expected to attract domestic petroleum importers, reducing circulation cost for petroleum traders in the region of Southern Central and Highlands. As planned, the port will be start operation in end 2014.
