According to automobile dealers in Nha Trang, the number of customers coming to showrooms and ordered these days has risen by 12% - 25% year-on-year.

At a Ford showroom in Le Hong Phong Street, a buyer named Nguyen Van Phu from Cam Ranh, said, ‘After a year of working and saving, I can afford a car for my family now.” Vietnamese people always want to have new things on Lunar New Year as a luck and the purchases are often done in year-end time, said another customer who has just bought a Honda City car.

As a result, car producers launch new models every year-end time and dealers offer promotions to lure buyers. A customer named Ngo Quang Vinh shared, “I’ve just purchased a Hyundai Avante car with an offer of VND20 million in cash.”

At present, many car dealers are offering many promotions such VND10 million – VND60 million discounts on car purchases; lucky lots for gifts of motorcycle, Iphone 6 and digital camera for trial car driving; offers of insurance, spare parts, etc. The promotions have partly helped to raise sales. Director of Ford Company – Nha Trang Branch Le Cong Tam revealed, “Various promotions these days have made sales of the company up by 25%.”

According to Luong Phuc Anh, representative of Sao Mai Anh Co., Ltd., the dealer of Kia, Thaco, Mazda and Honda brands, the positive rise of real estate and stock markets also has put car sales up. Sales in months before Lunar New Year often go up by about 20%. “We have received many orders, but cannot deliver cars to some customers before Lunar New Year. Car firms have increased their production but the demand has been satisfied”

Banks also have preferential rates on loans for car purchases, for example lending up to 80% of car value with a rate of 9.8% for the first year or lending in 7-year term with a rate of 10% per year.

According to Nguyen Duy Nam, sales manger of Hyundai Nha Trang, promotions of car firms and dealers as well as preferential loans of banks have partly made car market rising. And from now to the Lunar New Year, car sales are expected to go up more.
