For rising purchase demand during the New Year 2015 holiday, supermarkets in Nha Trang have launched a lot of promotions while prices at market have showed light increase.

 

A representative of Co.opmart Nha Trang, the supermarket has dealed with suppliers to offer promotions. Accordingly, discounts have been given to products as follows: fresh food: 15%; confectionery and cosmetics: 10%; fashion products: 25%; home appliances: 49%.

 

Maximark has promoted 10 – 30% offers on cooking oil, fish sauce, canned food, vegetable, cosmetics and garment. The supermarket also combined with big brands such as Unilever and P&G to give gifts and organize lucky draw for membership and VIP customers.

 

 

At Metro Nha Trang, commodities like fresh milk, meat, fish, etc. have been given best prices in the week for wholesale. The supermarket also has slashed prices of necessities, dried food and consumer products by 5% - 20%.

 

At Big C Nha Trang, beside reducing prices and giving promotional gifts, the supermarket is stepping up services such as free delivery, card payment, change or refund in 7 days and hire purchase.

 

Electronic stores also have a lot of promotions on the occasion of the new year. According to the owner of Chanh Bon Electronic Store, many products like televisions, fridges, washing machines, etc have been given discounts by VND1 million – VND2 million and enclosed gifts.

 

Meanwhile, prices in markets have showed slight increase. Specifically, eggs have risen by VND3,000 – VND6,000/ten over early December; vegetable: VND1,000 – VND5,000/kg up; spice: 3% - 10% up; seafood: 2% - 6% up. A vegetable seller in Binh Tan Market, said, “Prices of vegetable have gone up due to the unfavorable weather and low supply.”

 

According to the provincial Statistics Office, consumption is forecast to go up sharply during the New Year holiday, raising CPI of January, 2015 slightly. The provincial Department of Finance is carrying out measures to keep the market stable.
