Gift baskets are often chosen by many as Tet gifts. The market of Tet gift baskets in Nha Trang this year’s plentiful with a lot of kinds and various products.
Tet gift baskets are available at supermarkets and stores. Normally, a gift basket includes 6 – 10 products such as confectionary, jam, tea, coffee, watermelon seeds and wine. However, some customers order gift baskets of essential products like sugar, cooking oil, seasoning powder, fish sauce while some like local products scuh as Khanh Hoa salangane nest, Nha Trang dried seafood, cashew nuts, etc. Some also enclose gift coupon to baskets.

According to Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Marketing Manager of Co.opmart Nha Trang, Co.opmart supermarkets sell 12 kinds of Tet gift baskets priced from VND150,000 to VND2 million/basket. Especially, there’s a kind of gift baskets which are packaged and delivered free to cities and provinces in the country. There’s also a kind of gift baskets for health, including fruits and foodstuff good for health.
For this Tet, Big C supermarket has launched 17 kinds of baskets and boxes of Tet gifts, priced from VND59,999 to VND1,700,000. 7 of them cost under VND100,000/basket. Ho Quoc Nguyen, PR Manager of the supermarket, “Baskets and boxes of Tet gifts comprise consumer products of prestigious brand names. Most of them are given promotions, so at reasonable prices. Besides, Big C will offer discounts for big orders.”
Meanwhile, Metro has 42 kinds of Tet gift baskets, from VND200,000 to VND6 million. Hundreds of products have been chosen to make the gift baskets.
Prices of Tet gift baskets this year see 10% - 15% increase over last year because prices of most products have gone up. At supermarkets, purchase of Tet gift baskets may rise by 15% - 30% over last year. Beside retail sale, gift baskets have been ordered by organizations, businesses, hotels and so on. At retail stores, sales are forecast not to increase because of so many supermarkets and agents now. The owner of Trung Hoang, a variety stores in the city center revealed, “Most Tet gift baskets are bought by individual customers. My store can sell averagely 3 – 4 baskets a day.”
