High income thanks to mango trees
Nguyen Minh Thuan, aged 1987, is well known Suoi Tan Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa as an active and diligent Youth Union secretary. Thuan earns an annual income of over VND300 million thanks to his working on 2.5-hectare area planting 600 Tu Quy and Hoa Loc mango trees.

Thuan graduated from Da Lat University with a bachelor degree in law. However, with the dream of enriching himself, Thuan always tried to learn about mango tree planting techniques. He used his savings (VND25 million) and money borrowed from his family and bank to buy an area covering around 1,988m2 in Suoi Dau Industrial Zone to plant mango trees. Thuan spent all income from planting mango trees to expand the planting area. At the first time of planting, he faced a lot of difficulties in capital and applying new techniques. He gradually learned by his own experience and did better.
Nowadays, Thuan’s mango farm not only earns him stable income but also offers jobs for five local laborers with the salary from VND3 to 4 million per person per month. Thuan said that in the upcoming time, he will replace Hoa Loc mango trees by Tu Quy mango trees to increase the productivity, thence increase income.
Doing business with green caviar
Dang Ngoc Thoai, born in 1984, Ninh Hai Commune, Ninh Hoa Town, accidentally knew about green caviar in 2004 when they were sent from Japan by his friend. After that, he decided to do business with green caviar right in his hometown.

In 2006, Thoai exported the consignment of green caviar to Japan for the first time. Until present, the company of Thoai’s family has 6 hectares of areas planting green caviar. His company’s trade name has become more and more popular among customers and companies. “The productivity of green caviar growing under current techniques is only 80%. I am researching the technique which produces a higher productivity,” said Thoai.
According to Thoai, oxygen is an important element for the development of green caviar. Therefore, he has tried to apply a method which provides more oxygen for green cavior, which increased the productivity up to 95%. Thoai said that he will apply this method in planting and producing green caviar.
At present, Thoai would like to cooperate with the tourist sites in order to help the local green caviar to reach domestic and international tourists.
Reportedly, Thoai is one of the typical young people in Ninh Hoa Town, who not only do business well but also creates jobs for many laborers in the locality. Besides, Thoai also engages actively in public activities. In 2011, Thoai was presented Luong Dinh Cua by the Central Youth Union for all of his achievements in doing business and contributions in the locality.
