Asia 96 New Material Joint Stock Company has put an adobe brick plant into operation in Dien Tho Commune, Dien Khanh District, raising the number of adobe brick plants to 5.

According to leaders of Asia 96 New Material Joint Stock Company, workshops and production lines, invested with about VND5.3 billion in total has a capacity of 15 million bricks/year.
According to Ho Minh Chau, Chairman of the Board, following the orientation of the Government and studying the market, the company realized the necessity of replacing burned brick with adobe one and invested much in producing this product.
"If our adobe bricks sell well, the company will invest three more plants with 7 production lines, raising total production to 100 million bricks/year. The project aims to meet demands of the market and create jobs for local laborers", Chau added.

“Not being the first adobe brick plant in the province but Asia 96 New Material Joint Stock Company has modern lines and the biggest production scale. This is a right direction as the Government and the provincial People’s Committee have oriented that adobe bricks will replace for burned ones gradually”, commented Le Hoang Tho, Deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
. Difficulties in sales
According to Decision No. 567, dated April 28, 2010 by the Prime Minister about the program to develop adobe bricks till 2020, adobe materials are set to make up 20 – 25% of burned materials in 2015, and the figure will be 30 – 40% in 2020. However, consumption of adobe bricks has been still low.
Khanh Hoa Province has 5 adobe brick plants with total capacity of nearly 100 million bricks a year. But, they are meeting a lot of difficulties in sales, mainly because of the habit of using burned bricks in construction.
To solve this problem, the provincial People’s Committee has recently laid down that works under the State budget have to use adobe bricks absolutely, and at works with 7 floors and above, adobe bricks have to been used at the rate of at least 50%.
