Domestic products sell well

According to Luong Quoc Thinh, marketing manager of Co.opmart Nha Trang, confectionery and jam for Tet in the supermarket this year increase three times over last year. Vietnamese products make up more than 80%. Most their prices are the same as those last year. Imports from Germany and France show a slight rise in price.

“Purchase of confectionery and jam is rather good at present. The supermarket has received orders of about 10,000 baskets of Tet presents so far. Each basket, costing from VND300,000 to VND400,000, mainly comprises sweet foods. Retail sales are still good”, Thinh revealed.

“Domestic confectionery now has good quality and appearance. They are also appetizing with Vietnamese. Therefore, I always buy Vietnamese products of prestigious firms on Tet”, said a consumer names Tran Thi Bich Van, living in Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang.

While imported confectionery has no change in design, domestic products also have many designs suitable with the Lunar New Year Festival. As a result, they are very favorite. Vietnamese confectionery now made up 70% - 90% not only in supermarkets but at in markets and groceries. Purchase of this kinds of goods is on the rise when Tet is coming nearer.
