Growing on the land with suitable climate and soil, coconuts in Ninh Da Ward (Ninh Hoa Township, Khanh Hoa Province) feature juicy, sweet with delicious meat. As a result, Ninh Da Coconut is well-known. However, for a long time, Ninh Da coconuts were sold retail only by the locals. Their market has matched their potentials. Realizing this shortcoming, Ninh Da Ward has established a cooperative groups of coconut growers for them to exchange experience and look for better sales for the coconuts.
Additionally, the local Farmers’ Association has coordinated with the Research Institute for Oil and Oil Plants to choose seeds, transfer technical advances on caring as well as preventing insects for coconut trees, and carry traditional ways to improve quality of coconuts.

With the support of the provincial Department of Science and Technology and units of Ninh Hoa Township, “Ninh Da Coconut” brand has been officially recognized and protected for Ninh Hoa Township Farmers’ Association that represents for coconut growers in Ninh Da. The recognization is foundation for using, marketing and managing the brand “Ninh Da Coconut”.
The cooperative group will join hands to build and protect the brand Ninh Da Coconut by training members about process, method, regulation to use the brand name. The cooperative group also estimateds the number of coconuts to issue brand stamps.
Recently, KhanhHoa Center For Application Of Science and Technology has held a training conference about the model of managing and using collective brand under the project “Building, managing and developing the collective brand of Ninh Da Coconut” for Ninh Hoa Township Farmers’ Association, other local units and over 50 coconut growers in Ninh Da Ward.
The protection of Ninh Da Coconut brand not only raises prestige for the product and brings higher economic value, but also encourages people in Ninh Da to develop this brand and expands the area of coconut growing.
