Social housing projects meet local people's demands

In Nha Trang, many social housing projects have been developed to meet the demand.

In Nha Trang, many social housing projects have been developed to meet the demand.

According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Steering Board of Housing Policies and Real Estate Market, nearly 10 social housing projects with hundreds of apartments are on sale now or will be put on sale soon. In 2015, An Thinh Apartment Building, An Binh Apartment Building and HQC Apartment Building with more than 1,000 apartments served accommodation for a number of local people. The apartments with sufficient area and reasonable prices under the preferential lending package of VND30,000 billion were quickly sold out.

Duong Sat Apartment in Vinh Diem Trung Urban Area  starting construction from November, 2015 also has attracted large buyers. This apartment has 11 floors with 282 flats with 36 – 80 sq.m in area. According to its investor – Phu Khanh Railway Management Co., Ltd., beside people working in the province’s railway, these apartments were sold to people who are working for State units.

There will some other social housing projects in Nha Trang, for example, the one in Phuoc Long Urban Area (invested by HUD Nha Trang Housing and Urban Development Joint Stock Company) to be finished in 2019, the one in Le Hong Phong 1 Urban Area (invested by Ha Quang Land) to be finished in 2018, the one at 50 Le Hong Phong Street (invested by Nha Trang Trading & Investing Building Co.,Ltd.) in 2018, etc. Each project will have 200 – 300 apartments, which is expected to satisfy local housing demands.

Recently, the provincial Steering Board of Housing Policies and Real Estate Market has presided over a meeting with social housing projects’ investors to step up progress of the projects as well as their public information. After starting construction of a project, investors post information in document on website of the provincial Department of  Construction. The investors have to put an advertisement with information about the project’ name, investor, location, number of apartments, areas of apartments, selling prices, etc. on the local newspaper once at least.

According to Tran Quang Buu, Deputy director of the provincial Department of Construction, good sales of the projects show a big purchasing power for social housing in the province. As a result, more and more new investors have poured in this market, helping local people with moderate income have chance to buy apartments.
