By forming, testing, transferring varieties of plants and livestock with high productivity and good quality, Agriculture Encouragement Center of Khanh Hoa Province has contributed much in forward the development of farming in the province.
Many out of 15 rice varieties the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center has performed during the past five years have been put into production on a large scale, raising both productivity and quality when harvested. For example, the rice variety Ma Lam 214 which gives productivity up to 10 quintals/hectare and fights with insects and unfavorable weather has become the main rice variety of Ninh Hoa.
Besides, areas specializing in fruit trees have formed. Localities have found out their main crops like mango in Cam Lam and Cam Ranh, durian and jackfruit in Khanh Son, coconut in Ninh Hoa and grapefruit in Khanh Vinh. Then, the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center researched, applied and performed models of planting fruits under GAP or VietGAP process to improve productivity and quality of products safely and firmly.

In breeding, the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center has supported farmers in applying models not only effective but friendly with environment as well into production. For example, the model of livestock on biology padding has produced good effect quickly. Domestic animals raised in this way grew and gained weight better. Especially, environmental pollution has been prevented by livestock on biology padding.
According to the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center’s director Huynh Kim Khanh, the center has performed 24 agriculture encouraging models at 435 spots covering over 168 hectares totally. In the coming time, the center will continue encouraging, popularizing and directing farmers to apply technological advances like VietGAP process, ICM process, new plant varieties, etc. into agricultural production.
At the sum-up ceremony for the period of 2011 – 2015, Kim Van Tieu, deputy director of the National Agriculture Encouragement Center appreciated, “Agriculture encouragement in Khanh Hoa Province during the past years not only has put better breeders into production but also has respected durability in agricultural production.”
