According to the project, from now to 2020, the whole Khanh Hoa Province will have 4,200 hectares of agricultural land to be changed plants, including 2,800 hectares of ineffective rice land transferred to corn, peanuts, vegetable, etc. and 1,400 hectares of yearly and perennial plants shifted into fruit plants. The figures have been collected from demands of communes in the whole province, surveyed by the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The graph comparing effect of kinds of plants, basing on reality and science, showed that on one hectare of soil, a rice crop earns about VND18 million in profit. Profit from corn and peanut plants is slightly lower than rice. Particularly, a hectare of garlic plants earns VND150 – 250 million. Red pepper also earns hundreds of VND million. Sugarcane and manioc give about VND16 million/hectare/crop. Grapefruits and Australian mangos can earn about VND250 million/hectare/crop; while durians can earn nearly VND200 million.
 
At a recent meeting with the province’s agriculture about changing plants, Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dao Cong Thien emphasized, “Localities have to check their reality to find down which plant is effective and which plant is ineffective. Changing plants need to be feasible, effective and suitable. The province tends to form areas specializing in growing some certain plants, including fruits, vegetable, industrial plants, rice, etc. Simultaneously, consumption for products must be attach more importance.”
