Banks prepare measures to satisfy rising card payment demand

According to Le Khanh Trang, deputy manager of Detail Department of Vietinbank Khanh Hoa, the rate of ATM card growth in Vietinbank Khanh Hoa in 2016 is 20% over 2015; POS network and internet banking service has risen by 40%; card payment has increased by 150%. To ensure safety for transactions of ATM, POS and internet banking, this bank has installed device to protect PIN code for ATMs, given frequent maintenance for ATMs and POS device, etc.

 

In 2016, BIDV has developed international cards strongly. In BIDV Khanh Hoa, international debit cards have grown by 51%; credit cards: 32% up; ATM cards: 15%, POS machines: 32%; turnover: 30%. According to Nguyen Quoc Tuan, manager of card department of BIDV Khanh Hoa, the bank branch has intensified measures to ensure safety for ATMs. About internet banking services, the bank has informed customers about measures to keep safety for online transactions.

 

In Vietcombank Khanh Hoa, beside similar measures, the bank also suggests customers connect with the bank timely in case of problems in internet banking for support.

 

 

Satisfying high demand on year-end time

 

Year-end is the time payment transactions rise sharply, especially cash withdraw through ATMs. To keep ATM transaction go through, commercial banks intensify cash for ATMs, frequent check over ATMs to ensure security and operation of the devices and systems, etc. To POS devices, banks have staff to check them frequently and give support card receivers in case of errors.

 

To ensure service quality and safety for ATM operation, the State Bank of Vietnam on December 14 delivered a document to command card issuing organizations and card payment organizations to supervise ATM cash balance to add cash timely, satisfying the high demand for cash in year-end time…The State Bank also asked its branches in provinces and cities to supply cash to serve withdrawal by ATMs, intensify inspection and punishment to violations in ensure serve quality, security and operation of ATMs, etc.
