Fund for lending managed well

During the past years, Cam Lam District Women's Union have managed mandated fund for lending, ensured credit quality and gained prestige of the Bank for Social Policies.

During the past years, Cam Lam District Women’s Union have managed mandated fund for lending, ensured credit quality and gained prestige of the Bank for Social Policies.
 
In 2015, through Cam Hiep Nam Commune Women’s Union, Pham Thi Thiet’s family, a poor household in Suoi Cat Hamlet was lent VND30 million by the district Bank for Social Policies to buy two reproductive cows. She also hired land for planting. Up to now, the two cows have produced two calves. Thiet has returned the loan and interest on term. Cam Hiep Nam Commune Women’s Union is managing mandated fund of VND8.5 billion, and no overdue debt occurs.
 
Cam An Nam Commune Women’s Union has also managed its mandated fund effectively. The union is managing VND12 billion, and there is no overdue debt.

Cam Lam District Women’s Union has 15 units with 71 branches and 23,616 members. For good management in mandated funds, right from the beginning of the year, its standing committee directed the units to attend training classes organized by the district Bank for Social Policies to master ways o manage funds, popularize members about credit for poor people, students and beneficiaries of welfare. Inspection about funds is done every year.
 
Up to now, the whole district has 114 groups of saving and lending for women with fund of VND108,5 billion. 5,235 households have been given loans by the fund. In 2016, with efforts in managing mandated fund, the district Women’s Union was given certificates of merit by the provincial Women’s Union and Board chairman of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.
 
According to Vice-chairwoman of the provincial Women’s Union Le Thi Mai Lien, Cam Lam District Women’s Union has been one of unions managing mandated fund for many years. The district Women’s Union has coordinated closely with the Bank for Social Policies and the local authority to survey demands for capital lending, guide lenders use loans rightly and speed up them to pay loans on schedule.
