Khanh Hoa Branch of Vietcombank on May 25 handed over 10 houses for poor households in Ninh Trung Commune, Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province. Total construction expenditure for the 10 houses is VND500 million, financed by Vietcombank Khanh Hoa. Owning to that good deep, the ten poor households have firm houses.
It’s the first time the old woman named Tran Thi Thu, 73, in Vinh Thanh Hamket has lived in a house built by brick. Previously, she had lived alone in a ragged house with leaky corrugated iron roof, cracked earthen walls, damaged floor and door. Vietcombank Khanh Hoa supported VND50 million to build her a new house, 32 sq.m, with a living room, a bedroom and a toilet. “I’m very happy when being giving the house. From now on, I have a good shelter from rains as well as a place for my descendants to get together”, she said.
Ho Thanh and his wife had also lived in tattered house with leaky roof, damaged earthen walls and rotten wooden pillars. When receiving the new house, he gratefully said, “But for the bank’s support, we wouldn’t have money to repair or build my house because we are old and ill.”

Most people of the ten supported households are old. Some of them are solitary. They can’t afford to rebuilding their house. The new houses, over 30 sq.m., built by walls, tiled and roofed by corrugated iron are big presents to them. They will make their life much better.

Attending the house hand-over ceremony and visiting some households, Vice-chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai honored the good deep of the whole Vietcombank Khanh Hoa staff for poor people. He also hoped the supported households to conserve new houses, try to escape poverty, and improve living. The vice-chairman also asked the local authority to continue giving mind to poor households.
According to Luong Phan Sang, director of Vietcombank Khanh Hoa, beside business, the bank branch always cares about social works, especially supporting houses for poor people. Along with the ten above houses in Ninh Hoa, Vietcombank Khanh Hoa has just donated 8 houses in Cam Lam and 2 ones in Khanh Son. Total expenditure is VND1 billion. This is the good heart of Vietcombank Khanh Hoa staff with a desire to help poor people to live better and rise in their life.
