Khanh Hoa Farm Product Fair 2017 themed “Good-quality and safe farm products” is planned to take place at Yen Phi Park, Nha Trang from June 30 to July 3. The fair will be hosted by the provincial Farmers’ Association.
According to Chairman of the association Nguyen Trong Trung, the fair aims to display, advertise and sell local farm products like Australian mangoes, durians, coconuts, green-skin grapefruits, garlic, safe vegetable, etc. Through the fair, farmers, supermarkets and businesses will have a chance to promote trading, connect supply and demand, cooperate and link with each other in production and sale. It will also be an occasion for farmers in the province and other provinces to exchange production experience, access information and new technologies in agriculture.
To prepare for the fair organization, the provincial Farmers’ Association has set up the Organization Board with members from Nha Trang City People’s Committee, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the provincial Department of Tourism, the provincial Department of Culture – Sports, the provincial Department of Health, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the provincial Policem and Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company.
Coming to the fair, visitors will see an overall view of Khanh Hoa agriculture. At the fair, there will be safe farm products, processed farm products, flowers, ornamental plants, plants and breeders with high economic value and clear origin. Besides, visitors can learn about products from traditional trade villages and enjoy a lot of local food. The fair will comprise 70 booths, situated in 5 sectors, including sector for ornamental creatures, sector for processed farm products, sector for vegetable, sector for food and drinks and sector for Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism marketing. The fair aims to introduce images, people, farm products and tourism of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to visitors. The fair will also display and provide biotech products, hi-tech products and agricultural materials for production.
Especially, a workshop connecting supply and demand will be held in the framework of the fair to help cooperative groups, cooperatives and farmers to connect with suppliers, support VietGAP and GlobalGAP farming, find measures for qualified distribution channel, intensify taking safe farm products to high-class places like restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, etc. Then, it will partly forward safe farming, transfer agricultural structure of localities, and help consumer be aware of products’ origin.
Grassroots farmers’ associations, cooperatives, cooperative groups have chosen typical products to bring to the fair like durians, purple sugarcane (Khanh Son District), green-skin grapefruits, bananas (Khanh Vinh District), Ninh Da lotus, Ninh Van garlic (Ninh Hoa Town), peanuts, Tuan Le coconuts (Van Ninh District), mangoes, big-rooted taros (Cam Lam District), pickled scallion heads (Cam Ranh), mushrooms, safe vegetable (Nha Trang), etc.
The preparations for the fair have been in the main fulfilled. A successful fair is expected.
