During the past ten years, Bich Kha sports net weaving business (in Thanh Minh 3 Hamlet, Dien Lac Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province) owned by Nguyen Thi Hoa has trained vocation and created jobs for many rural women.

Every day, after farming, Nguyen Thi Boi called at Nguyen Thi Hoa’s house to receive nets to weave. Boi has done this work for over 3 years. “By this job, I can earn more VND2.5 million each year to spending the living expenses. I have also guided my children to join to raise our income.”, she said.

Ten years ago, Hoa started weaving nets with an aim to have more income for her family. A time later, realizing that this job is suitable with women in rural areas, she guided some others to do it. Then, many women from many hamlets and communes like Dien An, Dien Lam, Dien Thanh, etc. came and asked for the apprenticeship. “At the peak time, my business employed nearly 100. Normally, it has 60 - 70 laborer. With the pay of VND18,000 – VND30,000/kg, a labor can earn VND2 – 2.5 million each month”, Hoa said.

According to Pham Thi Thu Hien, Chairwoman of Dien Lac Commune Women’s Association, during the past many years, Hoa has come forward to receive materials and sign contracts with sports device companies to bring jobs for locals. She trained the vocation for them and shared with their difficulties. Recently, she has developed a new model which is purchasing and multiplicating ornamental plants, especially orchids. This model is creating more jobs for local women, partly reducing poverty in the commune.
