The market days were crowded with buyers all the time from the beginning to the end. Before the market days, Binh Ba People’s Committee had announced about it by loudspeakers and banners in many roads of the commune. Therefore, many people on Binh Ba Island and even from Binh Hung Island came for shopping when the market days opened. A person named Nguyen Thi Mai (in Binh Ba Dong Hamlet) said, “The market has a lot of essential products with good quality and reasonable prices. Many booths offer promotions, so we are eager for shopping.”
Dinh Ngoc Tuan, sales manager of Thien Thien Food Service Trading Production Company Limited, the company’s booth sold 90% of the products till the third day of the market. On this occasion, the company’s staff went to stores on the island to introduce products.
Hinh Cao Toan, manager of the booth of Tri Kien Co., Ltd, was also surprised at the purchase. “Only in the first day, we sold a half of the products we carried to the island. A lot of people came to the market. It’s not worth crossing tens of nautical miles to transport goods to the island.”

According to Nguyen An – Chairman of Cam Binh Commune People’s Committee, ,most of goods on the island are from the land, therefore, the local people were very delighted as the market days sold Vietnamese products with good quality and reasonable prices. Music shows every night during the market days also entertained people on the island. The commune and the organization board jointly kept order and security for the market to take place successfully. The commune expects more such market days for local people on the island to buy good products.
Despite difficulties in carrying goods from the mainland to the island, the market days got a result beyond expectation. Businesses sold products and had more agents, and the local people could buy good products with a lot of promotions. According to Le Thu Hai – Deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the department has organized a lot of market days to bring Vietnamese products to rural areas. It has been the first time such a market day was held on island. It was an activity under the national trade promotion program 2017.
