From the fund for project of coastal benefits for the sustainable development of the province, in 2016, the biological diversity breeding model of prawn and golden rabbit fish combination has been developed in 5 households in Van Thu Hamlet, Cam Hoa Commune, Cam Lam District by the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center. Each household has a pond of 0.5 hectare in area. During that time, 30% of foodstuff and 100% of breeders were supported for each raising households. Total breeders were 75,000 prawns and 2,000 golden rabbit fish. Expenditure for each household was VND35 million. After 6 months, each household harvested 1.16 tons of prawns and 280 kilograms of golden rabbit fish. Only prawns were fed; fish ate weed and remaining foodstuff of prawns. The breeding model was appreciated effectively and is being multiplied.

Also in 2016, the center developed new model on Tri Nguyen island, Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang. From the local pisciculture encouragement fund, the center gave raisers 1,200 breeders and 605 kilograms of industrial foodstuff to carry out the model of raising fish in cages by industrial foodstuff. After 8 months, this model gave satisfactory results. Another successful model was raising crabs with golden rabbit fish in Ninh Hoa Town, Cam Lam District.
According to Pham Duy Truong, deputy director of the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center, as fund for pisciculture is still low, in the coming time, the center will focus on building piciculture encouragement models in aquaculture with prawns as the main breeding objects, beside models in fishing and fishery processing.
