16 out of 32 member companies of Khatoco has been damaged serverely, including 5,000 tons of tobacco materials, 20,000 sq.m. of premises for tobacco production, 10,000 sq.m. of premises for textile garment production, more than 1,500 machines and subsidiary works, 100 tons of materials for textile garment, 1,000 tons of material paper, 2 workshops, etc. Many trees, landscapes and works in Yang Bay Tourist Park, Hoa Lan Stream, Monkey Island have been damaged.
According Khatoco General director Le Tien Anh, right after the storm, the whole staff of the group have started repairing damage. “We want our production back to normal as soon as possible. We mobilize all out staff to do the repair to overcome difficulties”, he said.
Khatoco Khanh Hoa Cigarette Factory have workers tidy up blown tole sheets, broken trees as well as damaged machines and materials. Only one week after the storm, the repair here was done.
Khatoco Garment Enterprise has also all the staff to put it in order. “We did alternate assignment to have 150 do the clean-up. We also dealed with workshop and machine repairers to make good the damage. However, because the factory suffers too heavy damage, the repair will be done in January, 2018”, said Le Van Hung, director of the enterprise.

On the two islands Hoa Lan Stream and Monkey, owning to the effort to make good damage, they have opened to visitors since November 8. The repair continues to be done.
Up to now, some member companies of Khatoco has stabilized their operation; some others are operating and doing repair at the same time. Only the repair Khatoco Garment Enterprise and Rang Dong Paper Joint Stock Company will be finished in the first quarter of 2018.
Remarkably, mutual assistance has been shown in Khatoco. Khatoco has extracted more than VND21 billion from its welfare fund to give aid to employees having damage in the storm. Each case was given VND3 – 5 million. In addition, labor unions in member companies called for donation to help employees having damage in the storm. Particularlly, employees with completely collapsed house were given an extra aid of VND5 million. In factories stopping production, the employees are paid 100% of the minium wage.
