A lot of breeding farms in Khanh Hoa Province have increased number to serve high demand for meat and poultry on the coming lunar New Year festival. However, the growth is not much because breeding hasn’t been recovered after the storm Damrey.

According to statistics, Khanh Hoa Province has 1.8 million chickens, 940,000 ducks and gooses, 218.400 fowls, 88,250 buffaloes and cows,  166,128 pigs, etc.

Cam Ranh City has about 12,000 buffaloes and cows, 5,800 pigs, and 180,000 poultries. According to Nguyen Binh Nhat, economic official of the city, the breeding in Cam Ranh has increased number by 20% - 25% over normal, mainly in Cam Phuoc Dong, Cam Thanh Nam, Cam Thinh Dong, and Cam Nghia. Poultries have larger increase in number because breeding time is shorter than others. Inoculation for domestic animals have also been done well.

In Cam Lam District, breeding has risen number gradually from September. Till end November, poutries in the district hit 750,077, increasing by 10%. A raiser named Le Quy Danh, in Cam Thanh Bac Commune, said, “Normally, I raise about 3,000 chickens. Two weeks ago, I bought 2,000 more chickens. Then, my flock has 5,000 chickens now. All my neighborers increase their flocks. These chickens are expected to sell from the 15th day of the 12th lunar month. A chicken is selling at VND65,000 – VND70,000/kg.”
