Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee has honored 33 typical rural industrial products in 2017. In addition, 14 most excellent products have been chosen for the regional selection.
After careful consideration, the organization board of the provincial selection for typical rural industrial products have chosen 33 out of 74 products to honor. These products are popular and potential. Especially, 14 best excellent products sent to the regional selection are products of prestigious trademarks.
For instance, Thuan fish cake in Van Phu Commune, Van Ninh District has been popular in the market for many years. This is the first time this product has been selected as a typical rural industrial products. Before, it won the gold cup of favorite Vietname trademark in 2014 and the gold medal of Trust Food 2014.
Onsen mineral water of Onsen Joint Stock Company in Van Thanh Ward, Nha Trang is a trademark since 1994. After many years of developing its position in the market, the product’s quality has been recognized at the national level. Some other selected products are the bronze censer set by Phu Loc cooperative (in Dien Khanh District), fine arts snails by Huynh Ngoc Nhu producer (in Nha Trang), agarwood fan by Tam Linh Khanh Hoa Co., Ltd. (in Van Ninh), etc. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, sales manager of Onsen Joint Stock Company said, “Being honored as a typical rural industrial product encourages us to try more. I hope 14 products of Khanh Hoa will be honored at the regional selection.”

Deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Le Hoang Tho, the chairman of the selection council, appreciated “The competition in 2017 attracted more products with more designs than that in 2016. Quality of products have been improved. It is a step of rural industrial products in the province. 33 honored products have their own good features. Many of them have confirmed their position in the market.”
Selecting, honoring and certificating typical rural industrial products have encouraged rural businesses to develop products. The producers also hope to the recognization will give a power to their products. Pham Thi Thuan, the owner of Thuan fish cake business, said, “After winning the title, we need to think how to make our products to develop more. The honored products will be supported in marketing.”
According to Nguyen Sanh Duong, director of the provincial Industry Encouragement and Trade Promotion, the selection for typical rural industrial products at all levels (district, provincial, regional and national) partly helps marketing for products. Then, the businesses also invest in innovating machines and technologies to improve their products. Honored products will be given some priorities in being supported by the local and national industry encouragement funds. Businesses with honored products will be able to access other preferential investment policies on typical rural industrial products. Selected products will be announced on media.
