According to a report of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in 2017, textile companies had good growth. Textile and assessory products hit USD73.72 million, increasing by 7% year-on-year. With favorable conditions, 2018 is forecast to be a prosperous year of textile. In January and February, 2018, most of textile companies made a growth.
In first two months of 2018, Nha trang Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company exported 700 tons of fibre, worth USD2 million, increasing by 30% year-on-year; and exported garment products worth USD700,000, increasing by 10% year-on-year. This is a good signal. Vo Dinh Hung, director of Nha trang Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, said, “Now we have orders for 6 first months of year. Orders has risen sharply over 2017. All our products are exported to the US, Europe, Japan, Korea and China. Orders in 2018 are forecast to rise by 10% over 2017.”
According to experts in textile, economy is getting better; therefore, demand for garment in countries also increases. Besides, as China reduces preference in textile and shoe leather to focus on high-tech industries, many textile orders have gone from China to Vietnam. EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement taking effects in 2018 will be also a prosperity for textile.
Nguyen That Linh, sales manager of Khatoco Trading Co., Ltd. said, “ When the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is signed on March 8, 2018 and take effects, most textile goods of Vietnam will enjoy 0% in export rate into CPTPP member countries. Domestic textile company expect new market like Canada, Australia, Peru, etc.”
In the two first months, export textile products of Khatoco made a sharp growth over 2017. They also sold well in the country. Especially, high-quality menswear is developing the most. Sales of Khatoco garment products is expected rise by 10% in 2018.
According to Tran Van Ngoan, deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, to develop textile industry more stably, in the time to come, companies in Khanh Hoa should set up production chains linking fibre, texitle, dying and garment to create products with high added value; and focus on key fields. The companies also shouldn’t ignore domestic market by developing products suitable with domestic consumers and building trademarks and distribution chanels.
