Right from the beginning of the year, the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has policy to step up industry to create jobs for laborers and partly develop the local economy.

Satisfactory results

In the first quarter of 2018, the Index of Industrial Production of the province rose by 6.33% year-on-year. Specifically, sugar increased by 3.5%, processing: 6.4% up, electricity: 10% up… Especially, salangane nest drink and nutritious drinks grew up by 69%, canned beer: 22%. In the coming time, these products may keep rising as both Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company and Sai Gon Beer Joint Stock Company have expanded production scale and found big orders.

“The growth has exceeded the expectation as the industry of the province was damaged heavily due to the storm Damrey in end 2017. We thought it would be a longer time to cover the industry. However, right in the first quarter of 2018, the damage was repaired and production was recovered and grew up sharply year-on-year. This is a good sign”, said Tran Van Ngoan, deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

To reach the above results, right after the storm Damrey, the provincial authorities have given much support to damaged businesses like tax, social insurance, loans from banks, land hire exemption, etc. Up to now, most of the businesses have backed to normal. Some businesses having much contribution into the local State budget like Hyundai Vinashin, Khatoco, etc. as well as textile companies have made growth in production and orders in comparison with the same period last year.

Industry keeps rising

The province’s industry is expected to keep rising as it has full of good conditions to develop strongly. Remarkably, 8 projects in Van Phong Economic Zone with total investment of VND1,400 billion have been developed. New industrial groups like Song Cau, Trang E, etc. and the expansion of Dien Phu Industrial Group are completing infrastructure to call secondary investors. When the industrial zones and industrial groups are put into operation, they will contribute into the economic development of the province and create more jobs for laborers.

In addition, a lot of solar power projects will partly forward the province’s industry. These projects will solve the problem in energy for industry and contribute to the local State budget as well as the development of the province.

Tran Son Hai, Standing Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, confirmed, “To raise the economy of the province after the storm Damrey, industry plays a big role. The province is now facilitating industrial zones and industrial groups to go into operation soon in order to create new revenue for the local State budget. Besides, the province will continue measures to improve environment for investment and business to attract potential investors.”
