Rural areas of Nha Trang City in good growth

Over 10 years of implementing the Resolution of the 7th Conference of the Central Party Committee 10th on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, agriculture of the city has developed stably, the appearance of rural areas has changed, and living quality of rural people has been improved.

Now, 6 out of 8 communes of the city achieved 19 criteria of a new rural area, the two others reached 11 - 12 criteria. Income per capita of the 8 commune is VND32.87 million/person/year. Rate of poor households is under 5%. Vinh Hiep Commune has the highest income per capita (VND41 million) and the lowest rate of poor households (0.3%). Vinh Thai Commune has the lowest income per capita (VND31 million). Phuoc Dong Commune is the commune with the highest rate of poor households (3.99%).

Under the new rural area program, all roads in rural areas have been upgraded, broadened, concretized and installed with lighting system. Markets and medical centers in rural communes have been upgraded. Many suitable production models have been developed in the communes.
 
Agriculture in Nha Trang is aimed to develop in the tendency of ecological urban agriculture, supplying safe farm products for tourism.
 
According to Le Huu Tho, Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee, the city will keep attending to developing agriculture, rural areas and farmers, focusing on production models to supply clean farm products for tourism and apply high technologies in farming, developing rural industries, etc. Besides, culture in rural areas will be improved more, prevent social evils in rural areas. All the communes of Nha Trang are expected to be qualified for new rural areas in 2020.
