Ninh Hoa has more than 80,000 hectares of farming land, including 12,000 hectares of rice land, 14,000 hectares of annual land mainly for growing sugarcane (about 10,000 hectares), corn, manioc, etc., more than 7,800 hectares for perrenial plants, 19,800 hectares of protection forest land, over 23,300 hectares of production forest land. The figures show that sugarcane and rice exceed other plants.
Ninh Hoa Township sets a target to increase production value for each hectare of farming land from VND33 million to VND48 million in 2020.
To rice, Ninh Hoa is specializing in rice seeds, high-quality rice and gradually building trademarks from rice. To sugarcane, increasing productivity by expanding sugarcane areas with active watering and mechanization in production. From now to 2030, 4,000 hectares of land will be changed in total.

Ineffective annual plants will be changed to perential plants and fruit plants. Actually, a lot of farmers have done changing. In recent years, the area of vegetable, beans, garlic, etc. has increased to about 1,800 hectares and the area of fruit trees like orange, lemon, grapefruit, mango, banana, pineapple, jackfruit, etc. has risen to 3,400 hectares.
In other fields, Ninh Hoa has set target to have at least 20% of vegetable area according to VietGap standard, 30% of fruit tree areas applied high technology, almost no more breeding in urban areas, 90% of breeding households signing commitments on environmental protection…All aim to the target to raise growth rate of agricultural production value from 2.09%/year now to 3% in 2020.
To raise effectiveness of agricultural farming, water resource needs to be focused on. This is an important item to carry out Project to change plants, animals and aquaculture of Ninh Hoa Township by 2025 and view to 2030. Investment for this project is estimated to be nearly VND3,880 billion, including nearly VND2,900 billion for irrigational system. The project also suggests measures to carry out it, including policies on land, prices and insurances in farming, rural credit, technological application, trade promotion, marketing, capital for farming, encouring investment in agriculture, renovating prodiction, training human resources, environmental protection, etc.
