Delights are spreading all over durian orchards in Khanh Son District as durians are making new records in production and turnover. We came to some durian orchards having tens of hectares in Son Binh Commune. Those were big orchards with big investment in watering, fertilizing, techniques, etc. Most of them harvested more than 10 tons/hectare. Moreover, durian growers are more delighted as durians sell better than previous years. “Durian productivity ranges from 4 to 10 tons/hectares. The whole commune has a bumper crop of durians. With the average of VND50,000/kilogram, growers earn 200 – 400 million VND on each hectare of durians”, said Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, vice-chairman of Son Binh Commune People’s Committee.
