In end first quarter of 2019, Index of Industrial Production made a 7.22% growth year-on-year. This was a satisfactory growth rate, especially in the difficult situation of the economy when enterprises were restoring production after the diasaster in end 2018. Main industries like ship building, beverage production, fishery, etc. remained stable growth. Industrial production index of processing and manufacture had sharp growth year-on-year, for example, furniture production: 30.33% up; beverage production: 28.16%, etc. Water supply, waste treatment and water disposal rose by 8.89%; Production and distribution of power, gas and steam increased by 16.26%.
In early second quarter of 2019, Index of Industrial Production of the province has kept rising by 7.24% year-on-year. Beverage production, transportation and textile garment have remained impressive growth. Salangane nest drink in particular rose by 27%. Besides, many industrial projects are being executed positively. Infrastructures in industrial zones are forming and attracting secondary investors, partly create a large number of jobs for laborers and contributing the local State budget.
According to Tran Van Ngoan, deputy director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the local industry has made good growth in the early year because enterprises have made many measures to create impressive growth. Besides, the Department of Industry and Trade and the provincial leadership have facilitated and solved difficulties for enterprises to help them stabilize production and improve competition. The growth rate of 7% is a positive sign. On this growth, the industry of the province will have breakthroughs.
From now to the end of the year, opportunities for the industry to develop is very big. Remarkably, five solar power projects worth about VND4,000 billion with total capacity of 160MW are scheduled to be put into operation by June 30. The projects are expected to contribute much in the growth rate of the province’s industry and supply more power for production as well as the whole province.
Besides, the province’s leadership have facilitated and supported motivating projects to be put into operation. Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone and four other industrial zones are being stepped up. Significant items of Trang E Industrial Group have been finished. As planned, Khatoco Cigarrette Factory will build warehouse in this industrial zone. From now to the end of the year, another secondary investor will start construction workshop. These are positive signs for Trang E Industrial Group in particular and the province’s industry in general.
