The local authority of Khanh Vinh District has paid much attention to develop green-skin grapefruits. According to Nguyen Van Dong, Chairman of Khanh Vinh District People’s Committee, the project to develop main plants of the district set up in 2016 defined 4 plants, including green-skin grapefruit, jackfruit, durian and mangoe. Green-skin grapefruit is chosen to develop firstly. After the district had guided techniques for growers and encouraged changing plants, models of VietGAP green-skin grapefruit growing were made, which leads to the project on trademark of Khanh Vinh green-skin grapefruits.

Up to now, 85 hectares of green-skin fruit trees in Khanh Vinh District has been certificated VietGAP.

The whole Khanh Vinh District has more than 500 hectares of green-skin grapefruit trees, mainly in communes of Khanh Dong, Khanh Binh, Khanh Hiep, Khanh Trung, Khanh Nam, Khanh Phu, Song Cau and Khanh Thanh. According to Chairman of Khanh Vinh District People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dong, building and developing the trademade of green-skin grapefuits is neccesary and suitable with the market’s demand. Moreover, in the coming time, growers need to develop the trademark more. It’s necessary to mobilize more farmers to develop growing green-skin grapefuits according to VietGAP standard. In additon, the local authority need support farmers in coding process and electronic traceability in order that the district’s green-skin grapefruits are qualified to supply for supermarkets, hotels, resorts, etc. and be exported.
