Nha Trang City People's Committee on April 17, 2019 approved the detailed planning project of cage aquaculture area on Nha Trang bay until 2025 and orientation to 2035. Accordingly, the planning scope is the water area of70 ha, including 14ha of Tri Nguyen water surface (Hon Mieu), 6ha of water surface of Bich Dam Island and 50ha of water surface between Bich Dam Island and Dam Bay (in Vinh Nguyen ward).
In the period from 2018 to 2025, the traditional cage aquaculture design is planned in Tri Nguyen with 100 rafts/2,931 cages and Bich Dam with 30 rafts /1,125 cages, common cage size 4 × 4m; cultured species are lobsters and sea fish; high-tech cage and raft aquaculture is planned in the intersection of Bich Dam Island and Dam Bay with 60 circular cages, diameter of 20m, cage area of 314m2.
