Nha Trang hosts Blue Ocean Economy Seminar

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in association with the Royal Norwegian Embassy organized the Blue Ocean Economy Seminar, titled "Sustainable Technology for Industrial Marine Aquaculture and Processing", in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province on October 9. 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in association with the Royal Norwegian Embassy organized the Blue Ocean Economy Seminar, titled “Sustainable Technology for Industrial Marine Aquaculture and Processing”, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province on October 9. The seminar was attended by MARD Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien; Norway's Ambassador to Vietnam Grete Lochen; and more than 150 representatives from Vietnam’s ministries and central departments, some coastal provinces and cities in Vietnam, and many enterprises involved in fisheries of Vietnam and Norway.

 

 
The seminar attendees discussed and shared experience on the strategic development plans for marine aquaculture in Vietnam; needs for green technologies; solutions to promote industrial marine aquaculture in Vietnam; experience of Norway in building brand names of high-quality seafood products in international markets; sustainable technologies for fish farming on land and at sea, feeding solutions for marine fishes, and so on.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized the good cooperation between Vietnam and Norway, especially in marine economy.

Following the seminar, the representatives on October 10 visit some industrial marine fish farms in Van Phong Bay (Khanh Hoa Province).
