Khanh Hoa Province focuses on developing three key economic areas

According to the evaluation of the inspection team for the implementation of Resolutions No. 08, 09 and 10, dated July 11, 2016 by Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on promoting the development of Van Phong Economic Zone, Cam Ranh Bay area and Nha Trang City in 12 units and localities, targets, tasks and solutions that the resolutions have been set up are well implemented, ensuring progress and requirements.

 

 

Accordingly, the economic structure of the areas has moved in the right direction (services - tourism, industry - construction, agriculture - forestry - fishery). The mobilization of resources from many different economic sectors has brought significant efficiency in investing, building essential and synchronous infrastructure in the direction of modernization and key projects to promote socio-economic development of the whole province such as Vo Nguyen Giap Street, upgrading and expanding Phong Chau road and runway No. 2 of Cam Ranh International Airport.

 

 

 

Regarding tourism, Nha Trang now has attracted 130 projects with a total investment of nearly VND 71,614 billion. 38 projects of them have been put into operation with a total investment of more than VND 47,644 billion. In Northern Cam Ranh Pennisula tourist area, 41 projects have been granted investment registration certificates with a total investment of about 27,894 billion VND; 3 projects of which have been completed and put into operation and 5 projects of which have started operation of the first phase. In the period of 2016 - 2018, Nha Trang’s economy kept growing year by year, the socio-economic structure is going in the right direction. By the end of 2018, the industrial production value of the city accounted for 48% of the whole province’s figure, goods and consumer service revenue accounted for 45%, the revenue from tourism activities accounted for 84.9%. In the period of 2016 - 2018, the production value of economic sectors of Cam Ranh City increased by 21.67%/ year; the production value of economic sectors in Cam Lam District increased by 12.1% on average. Van Phong Economic Zone attracted 39 new projects, adjusted to increase capital for 10 projects; total newly attracted capital was over VND 63,788 billion. Now, 82 projects have been in operation with a total registered investment capital of nearly USD605.9 million. The revenue from projects is USD411.7 million on average, delivering nearly VND6,036 billion/year to the provincial budget, mainly from taxes of petroleum import and export activities.

 

 

 

 

The fields of health, education - training, and job creation have been improved to ensure the life quality for people in the region; national security and defense have been maintained. 

 

The inspection team also pointed out the limitations and shortcomings of each unit and locality in the process of implementing the resolutions so that it can take remedial measures in the near future. 

 

Based on the results of the inspection, the mission suggested the Provincial Standing Party Committee directing the units to concentrate on well implementing many issues to continue promoting the development of three key economic regions of the province.
