Australis Vietnam Seafood Co., Ltd. is a 100% U.S. invested capital company based in Ninh Hai Ward, Ninh Hoa Town; specializes in farming barramundi with advanced technologies in Van Phong Bay. The company proposed renting around 30 hectares of water surface in the waters of Bich Dam Island and Dam Bay Island for marine fish farming using advanced technologies. This area of sea water can accommodate 10 to 12 cages; production capacity of each cage is around 200 to 220 tonnes.
Nguyen Tuan Anh suggested that Australis Vietnam Seafood Co., Ltd. make a detailed description of the project and its sustainability and possible impacts on the environment, tourism, national defense and security. He also suggested that the company conduct actual surveys to put forward a specific proposal.
