According to Dang Cuu - Head of Ninh Hoa Town Economic Department, farmers in the town are focusing on renovating over 1,950 hectares of ponds to release brackish water fishery for breeding, mainly white leg shrimps and black tiger prawns. To help farmers take initiative in farming, Ninh Hoa town has implemented the calendar of brackish water shrimp farming in 2020 to localities. Accordingly, to avoid epidemics, localities must follow the breeding time and measures to renovate ponds, prevent and control diseases and encourage people to comply with them. Coastal localities such as Cam Ranh, Van Ninh... have also deployed to guide people into the new shrimp farming season, some ponds have been stocked for farmers.

Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also provided guidance on farming for two types of brackish shrimp including black tiger prawns and white leg shrimp. Accordingly, the stocking time for black tiger prawns is from February to August, only localities with good infrastructure and water are allowed to raise until the end of September. For white leg prawn farming, the stocking time is from February to September.
 
According to Nguyen Trong Chanh - Director of Aquaculture Sub-Department, as planned, this year, farmers in the province will stock more than 3,565ha of brackish water aquaculture, about 50% of which about is shrimp farming area. By this time, farmers in the province have raised 160ha of white leg shrimps and more than 450ha of black tiger prawns, the total area of brackish shrimp farmed in the province increased by nearly 70% over the same period last year. Besides guiding the brackish shrimp farming time to the localities, the Sub-Department will continue to actively monitor the environment, update timely information to the farmers; closely monitor the situation of aquaculture in key farming areas; coordinate with functional agencies in implementing the plan for prevention and fighting against aquatic epidemics; building safe aquaculture models, applying technical improvement measures to raise shrimp efficiently.
