Strong growth
Recently, the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Maritime Administration have planned to dredge and repair the navigable channel. Cam Ranh Port has also been planned to expand its wharves to improve its port operation capacity with a total investment of nearly VND60 billion in 2020. Currently, import and export of goods through the port show signs of growth, so Cam Ranh port is possible to exceed 3 million tons of cargo through the port in 2020.
According to the leader of Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company, in the first months of 2020, the volume of goods through the port still meets the plan and has a steady growth. In 2019, the company successfully completed the plan. The volume of goods through the port reached the highest level so far with nearly 3 million tons, exceeding 50% of the assigned target and increasing 3% of the year revenue target. This is the second consecutive year the company has a high cargo exceedin. Previously, in 2018, for the first time in the history of formation and development, the volume of cargo through Cam Ranh Port exceeded 2 million tons per year (reaching nearly 2.5 million tons), and targets and tasks for production and business reached and exceeded the set plan.
By the end of 2019, net revenue reached nearly VND159 billion, exceeding 4% of the year plan. For the whole year, profit before tax reached nearly VND30 billion, an increase of 53% compared to 2018, fulfilling 49% of the year's profit target assigned by the general meeting of shareholders. Profit after tax reached nearly 24 billion, up 53%. Ho Van Sang - Director of Operation Center of Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company said, “For 2 consecutive years, Cam Ranh Port reached nearly 2.5 million and 3 million tons of cargo. It is an optimistic signal for the growth goal of the company. Therefore, we will continue to invest and upgrade the system of warehouses and ports to meet the needs of freight businesses. Currently, Cam Ranh port has 2 wharves with a length of 600m, receiving ships of 50,000 tons. The company strives to reach 7 million to 10 million tons of cargo through the port by 2025, and more than 10 million tons by 2030 to the port. "
Currently, the main products of Cam Ranh Port are wood chips, construction stones, equipment, coal, cement, frozen fish, white sand... Especially, many components and equipment of wind projects and solar power projects in the South Central region and the Central Highlands are also imported and unloaded safely at Cam Ranh Port, including many long packages up to nearly 60m or heavier than 100 tons. The port is highly appreciated by customers for their profession in receiving, loading, unloading, tallying, storing and protecting goods.
