All the garment factories of Nha Trang Textile Garment Joint Stock Company have been reorganized to produce antibacterial cloth masks. Vo Dinh Hung - General Director of Nha Trang Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company said, “This is not traditional product of the company; however, to meet the high demand for masks to prevent Covid-19 epidemic, the company havs suspended some lines to switch to produce antibacterial masks. The main objective of the enterprise at this time is not to profit. It aims to contribute to the supply of masks for the community to protect health in the Covid-19 epidemic season.” In just 4 days, the company has officially launched antibacterial facemask with the quantity of 50,000 pieces/day. Millions of masks are expected to be marketed in the coming days to serve the community.
Cam Ranh Garment Joint Stock Company, specializing in sewing suits to export to Europe, has also decided to participate in the production of masks to serve the community. Currently, each day, businesses produce 20,000 units, including regular cloth masks and antibacterial masks. Duong Hai Uyen - CEO of Cam Ranh Garment Joint Stock Company said, “Our company with 700 workers, is operating at full capacity, producing 20,000 masks a day. From sewing fashion to sewing masks, the company has to increase wages for employees. However, for the sake of the community, we accept the losses ”.
So big demand
According to Vo Dinh Hung - Nha Trang Textile Garment Joint Stock Company, the company has the strength to produce antibacterial knitted fabrics to sew into products exported to Japan, meeting the strict standards of antibacterial clothing of this market. The fabric is self-produced by the company, so in the long run, the company will not worry about the shortage of raw materials. This antibacterial cloth mask can be washed 30 times and is certified for antibacterial compliance according to the standards of the Ministry of Health. In addition, the masks produced by the company are also UV resistant (ultraviolet, ultraviolet) for users. It is expected that the company will launch the masks to market with the posted price of VND7,000/product.
Nha Trang Textile Joint Stock Company now has received an order of 2 million masks. It is expected complete this contract for more than 1 month. The company has tried to increase capacity but the market demand is still too large. Businesses have to refuse orders of 4-5 million mask because they can not produce them. “The company is considering increase working time of workers. Besides, the company will link with other garment enterprises of the province to produce antibacterial masks to serve the community, contributing to fighting the disease”, Hung said.
Duong Hai Uyen said “In addition to the mentioned difficulties, raw materials are also a concern of many enterprises specializing in mask production, since most antibacterial fabrics are imported. For those units that can produce fabric, there is also concern about antibacterial drugs. However, in order to avoid the scarcity of masks , Cam Ranh Garment Joint Stock Company will actively seek sources of raw materials and boost production to meet a part of demand”.
