Cooperatives working effectively
The whole province has more than 90 agricultural cooperatives, but only about half of them are operating effectively. In particular, the agricultural cooperatives in Dien Khanh District are a model for the change of collective economy in the whole province.
According to Dien Khanh District People's Committee, the district has 23 agricultural cooperatives with more than 27,600 members. Most agricultural cooperatives have built the linking model with businesses to sell products. Thousands of hectares of rice have been produced to orders. As a result, the income of rice farmers has increased by at least 20% compared to normal. In addition, Dien Khanh District has also built large field that applies the same production process on an area of over 1,500 hectares.
A farmer named Tran Dien, in Dien Hoa Commune, Dien Khanh District said that rice farmers are no longer hard as before, machines do from planting, tending to harvesting, and even people do not need to dry the rice or build stockpiles like before as rice is purchased right at the field. This is thanks to the efficient functioning of cooperatives.
Similarly, in Ninh Hoa Town, Ninh Quang 1 Agricultural Cooperative with Ngoc Quang high-quality rice brand is also opening a new direction in the process of seeking ways to improve the efficiency of rice. In that, the cooperative not only plays a role as a focal point of production organization, but also undertakes the value chain of rice from the field to consumers.
With positive changes and efficiency, the cooperatives specializing in rice are model for other agricultural cooperatives across the province to study and apply. When operating effectively, cooperatives will be encouraged and supported by the State with practical issues such as investing in people, supporting capital, and supporting infrastructure investment in order to further improve efficiency and expand the scale of operations of cooperatives step by step.

Building essential infrastructure for cooperatives to be supported
According to the evaluation of the authorities, although operating effectively, the essential infrastructure of most cooperatives is still not good.
In order to support the development of cooperatives, the Provincial People's Committee has recently decided to support the construction of essential infrastructure for 11 effective cooperatives in the province. Eight of them are in Dien Khanh District, namely Dien Binh, Dien Hoa, Dien Thanh, Suoi Tien, Dien Loc, Suoi Hiep 2, Dien Phuoc and Dien Lam 1. Three of them are in Ninh Hoa, including Ninh Quang Agricultural Cooperative 1, Ninh Quang Agricultural Cooperative 2 and Ninh Dong Agriculture Cooperative.
As planned, in 2020, VND5.2 billion supported by the provincial People's Committee, and more than VND2.2 billion with from the district budget will be invest in infrastructure for cooperatives. This policy is an impetus for cooperatives to keep trying to operate more effectively in the future.
