At supermarkets and big electronics stores on 2-4 Street, Quang Trung Street, 23-10 Street, etc. (in Nha Trang City) have few customers these days.

 

Nguyen Minh Chau - Manager of Nguyen Kim electronics store in Nha Trang said that in comparison with the same period last year, the purchasing power of cooling products this year decreased by nearly 20%. Most customers now buy products at average value as consumers are limiting spending.

 

Manager of Chanh Bon electronics store, Nguyen Hieu Hoang Vu, also shared that sales at his store have dropped by nearly 40%.

 

Confronted with the low sales, electronics stores are launching a lot of promotions to stimulate purchase. Now, there are more promotions than in previous years. For example, Dien May Xanh electronic store is offering 5m copper pipes, wires, water pipes (worth about 650,000 VND), 1 cleaning time in 1 year, an extra 1 year warranty, etc for customers buying an air-conditioner. In addition to the promotions like previous years, this year, Nguyen Kim electronic store is also offering 1 month of electricity use (worth VND500,000) when customers buy air conditioner; discounting VND200,000 - 400,000 for some kinds of fans and giving gifts. Most supermarkets are offering discounts 10% - 30% on refrigeration products.

 

According to electronics stores, this year, refrigeration products have so many new model compared to the previous year. However, after the Covid-19 epidemic, buyers prefer air-conditioners with anti-bacterial, dust-collecting and air-purifying features than before. Therefore, electronics stores also promote the introduction of these products, along with products using inverter technology to save power. This year, a number of brands are also promoting the product lines with intelligent features such as: "smart eye" air conditioners that can adjust according to user position and adjust the wind direction to saving powe; air conditioner with LED screen system designed to display the temperature and alert air pollution; air conditioner with wifi to connect to smartphones, etc.
