According to Bui Hoai Nam - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, over the past time, the Covid-19 epidemic has significantly affected work of local people, including the youth. With the aim to create diversification services to serve local people and tourism and implement ideas to support young people in start-up in parallel with promoting the night economy in Nha Trang City, the Provincial Youth Union has assigned Khanh Hoa Youth Support Center (under the Provincial Youth Union) to develop the project. Through assessment and analysis, the street food market in Nha Trang has many potentialities to develop more. When the number of tourists increases, the demand for enjoying local food will be higher. Many young tourists like to enjoy local dishes and specialties at small stalls by streets. However, it’s difficult to control quality and safety of street food stalls. Therefore, the project Food’s Truck with food safety and hygiene control is expected to serve demand of local people and tourists.

According to the designed solution, Khanh Hoa Youth Support Center will deploy 20 specialized vehicles for mobile sales. Implementation time is divided into 2 phases, from 2020 to 2022 and from 2022 to 2025, the total investment is expected to be VND10 billion. The advantage of the model is that food trucks can be moved and changed location in a day. For example, in the morning, food trucks can be placed near schools, hospitals and sports areas to serve breakfast and drinks. In the afternoon, they can be moved to tourist destinations with many tourists such as Chong Rock, Ponagar Tower, Long Son Pagoda ... By 19:00, all food trucks will gather at the park by Tran Phu Bridge to create a food street. The main items to be sold are fastfood, fruits, typical local dishes, fruit juice, soft drinks, etc.
Nguyen Khac Duy - Director of Khanh Hoa Youth Support Center, said that the human resources for implementing the project will be the youth force of the province, selected by the center. Besides serving tourists as well as local people and creating jobs for young people, the project also contributes to improving the landscape of Xom Con area.
The project proposal has been approved by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee. The Provincial Youth Union is getting ideas from the authorities as a basis for completion and submission to the Provincial People's Committee.
