Then, women's unions at the grassroots have specific and practical works and models, helping thousands of poor women and children have opportunities to rise in life.
Diversity in models
In recent years, the union has paid attention to organizing activities for women and children in poverty and disadvantaged circumstances. Specifically, the union has launched movements for poor women and children associated to specific themes.
Responding to activities for poor women and children, every year, grassroots women's unions have developed plans linking with emulation movements and local campaigns, and concretized them into projects and works which were significant and suitable for each locality and residential area, in order to help poor women and children especially in remote, mountainous areas and islands. Therefore, activities and models have developed well and creatively, mobilizing the participation and contribution of resources of the whole society. Some example are building playgrounds for children in difficult communes, giving basket boats to fishermen, giving scholarships and learning tools to poor children, lending without interests, etc.

Positive results
Over the past 5 years, unions have set up 15,747 piggy banks, 1,731 saving groups, , 1,672 groups helping each other, 165 models of saving to buy health insurance, etc. More than 130,000 turns of officials, members and women have joined saving, with accumulated balances of more than VND93.8 billion up to now, which has helped 20,997 households of poor women and 14,436 households headed by poor women. In addition, the unions have mobilized funds and given 867 means of livelihood to poor women; mobilized social resources to give more than 51,200 gifts, 1,858 scholarships and 365 savings books, build and repair 391 charity homes for poor women and children with a total value of nearly VND35 billion...
Through the activities and models of help, many poor women and disadvantaged women have had the opportunity to improve their lives, do stable business, become a good example, and encourage women to overcome difficulties to rise up continue. together. Typical examples are: Le Thi Suong (Cam An Bac Commune, Cam Lam District), Bui Thi Thanh (Dien Lam commune, Dien Khanh district), Ktor Thi Lien (Cam Thinh Tay commune, Cam Ranh city), Do Thi Mau (Xuan Son commune, Van Ninh district), etc. As a result, 19,217 female households have escaped out of poverty, helping the province reduce the average poverty rate by 1.5%/year.
According to Nguyen Quynh Nga - Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, over the past years, activities aiming at poor women and children have been implemented effectively, spread and developed widely at grassroots levels. Models are diverse and creative. Thereby, thousands of poor women and children have been helped. In the coming time, the provincial Women’s Union will direct lower omen’s unions to select and develop activities and models that have been implemented effectively, and invest more in quality. In particular, the union replicates typical examples of good people with good deeds, new factors, new models and creative ways.
