For the period of 2021 - 2025, Cam Ranh City aims to develop rural industries associated with consumer markets and product brands, associate rural production with tourism, cultural and festival activities.

According to Cam Ranh City People's Committee, currently the city has 1,140 business establishments (including 990 individual households and 150 enterprises) operating in rural areas, attracting 9,323 employees. The average income of rural workers is estimated to reach about VND50 million/year in 2020, including jobs with high income such as handicraft carpentry (VND71 million VN/year), civil carpentry (VND55 million/year), construction and transportation (VND60 million/year). Rural industry establishments have created a large number of jobs for rural workers in the city, creating jobs for more than 9,000 workers.

In addition to the advantages, at present, the form of organizing rural production and business in the city is mainly in the form of individual households (87%). Small businesses make up 13%, most of which are small-sized. Because there are no cooperatives in rural industries, so the possibility of joint ventures in the process of manufacturing and trading rural products is limited.

Nguyen Duc Tuan, owner of Huong Tram handicraft facility (Cam Loc ward), said that his establishment has been operating for 10 years, specializing in products related to agarwood to supply big stores and companies in the province. “In 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic has affected our business, and the consumption of products has plummeted. My facility used to create jobs for more than 10 employees with stable income, now down to only 5 employees. In addition, the limited product consumption market makes it difficult for businesses to sell products and re-invest in production”, Tuan shared.

As planned, in the period of 2021 - 2025, Cam Ranh City strives to create jobs for about 400 employees per year, raising the total number of laborers participating in the rural jobs from 9,000 to 11,000 by 2025. Rural workers, learning vocation in vocational training establishments are supported with the fee. Laborers who are ethnic minorities are supported 100% of vocational training costs. The city strives to raise the average income of rural workers from VND50 million/employee/year in 2020 to VND60 million/employee/year in 2025.

For the occupations oriented to develop associated with tourism, the city will support the development of fine-art wood and bamboo - rattan crafts in Cam Thuan ward and agarwood handicraft in Cam Loc ward, especially attaching importance to supporting vocational training to improve the production level of handicraft products and marketing for products. Civil carpentry establishments, fine arts carpentry, bamboo and rattan production establishments ... scattered in residential areas will be movef into concentrated industrial zones and clusters to limit noise and paint smell. The city supports the development of seafood processing (including dried, frozen seafood, fish sauce ...) to develop in the direction of industrialization and modernization instead of  manual processing which causes environmental pollution and unsanitary food safety.

In addition, the city will build brands for advantageous products, improve training about management and business capacity, participate in rural trade fairs and exhibitions, organize market surveys, construct display stalls and rest stations along the national highway or at tourist spots, airports ... to promote, introduce and sell products.
