The province’s industrial production index in the first ten months of this year was reported to increase by 0.2% over the same period last year. Some processing and manufacturing industries saw a year-on-year production index growth rate in the first ten months of 2020, including tobacco (17.32%); medicine and pharmaceutical chemistry production (17.28%); manufacture of prefabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, (9.85%); manufacture of means of transport (8.1%); sugar production (7.07%); refined sugar (28.07%); electricity for production (32.49%), construction stone (16.78%), and so on.
Some industries and sectors reported a reduction of industrial production, such as: water supply, waste and wastewater treatment (2.51%); beer production (22.2%); clothing production (12.52%); and yarn production (8.47%). Goods such as natural fiber was down by 8.47%; bottled beer shrank by 38.8%; canned beer decreased by 21.88%; and frozen tuna dropped by 11.57%.
