With the opening of a selling point of OCOP (one commune one product) products  at Co.opmart Nha Trang, the province's OCOP products have been brought closer to consumers.

Connecting supply - demand

The selling point of OCOP products is located on the 1st floor at Co.opmart Nha Trang, with a guide board for customers to easily find out. The products here are recognized and ranked 3-star at the provincial OCOP selection in 2019, including mushrooms, green-skin grapefruits, durians, O Xanh melons, Ngoc Quang rice, dried mangoes, fish ball, etc. A consumer named Nguyen Lan Phuong (Phuoc Hai ward, Nha Trang city) said, “I have heard a lot about OCOP products. I really want to use it but do not know where to buy it. Now, the OCOP selling point Co.opmart Nha Trang is convenient for buyers.”

According to Tran Van An - Top Food Company Limited, Cam Thanh Nam Commune, City. Cam Ranh (one of the units selling OCOP products - plastic dried mango at the supermarket), in 2020, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, tourists to the province plummeted, so the market for dried mangoes also dropped deeply. There are times when businesses almost stop production because of difficulties in output. Now, being facilitated by units to introduce and sell products at the Co.opmart supermarket, he is very happy. Hopefully, the company's products will be known by many consumers in the province, as well as tourists from provinces and cities nationwide when visiting and shopping at supermarkets so that the product can reach out further. When there is a stable output, the company will invest in increasing capacity, expanding production.

Vo Dinh Dung - Director of Co.opmart Nha Trang supermarket said, because most OCOP products of the province are still seasonal, only a few products are available for sale at present. Recently, the supermarket has worked with manufacturers, next week there will be more products such as Khanh Vinh green pomelo, fish cake ... In addition, the supermarket also exploits OCOP products, agricultural products. Typical villages of other provinces and cities across the country to serve consumers. Co.opmart wishes to become a local specialty introduction point to consumers, contributing to the development of OCOP products, supporting stable output to improve production value for people. Currently, supermarkets have many incentives for OCOP products such as: Completely free introduction, promotion and product display activities; discount policy to the lowest level ... Thus, the product will have a reasonable price, attracting consumers.

To replicate the project

Phan Thi Thu Cuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that the activity of introducing and selling OCOP products at the Co.opmart Nha Trang supermarket was under the project "Building OCOP product selling points in Khanh Hoa province. " The project has been developed by the Department of Industry and Trade since October 2020. This is the first OCOP one in the province. It is considered as one of the most effective spots, contributing to the promotion of local agricultural products to consumers inside and outside the province. The products on display for sale have been rated, which means that the products are clearly tested before being delivered to consumers.

In the coming time, OCOP products, rated 3 - 4 stars in 2020, will continue to be sold at Co.opmart Nha Trang. In addition, in order to diversify products and bring many quality products to consumers, the Department of Industry and Trade has discussed with supermarkets to sell more typical rural industrial products and local specialties. On the other hand, the Department has strengthened coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to replicate OCOP product display and sale points across the province, especially in crowded locations.

According to Le Ba Ninh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the biggest problem in agricutural production is the output for the product. Therefore, the launch of OCOP product selling points is a flexible step to build brand name and promote the consumption. In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct local farmer associations to promote propaganda and update knowledge for people about producing clean safe products for stable sale not only domestically but also export.
