In particular, during the year, the whole province successfully organized the Party Congress at all levels, the eighteenth Provincial Party Congress, the term 2020 - 2025, the 5th provincial patriotic emulation congress (2020 – 2025 term) ... For the task of disbursing public investment and ODA capital, the province basically achieved the set progress and plan. The provincial People's Committee also promptly adjusted to focus on investment in industry and construction. Therefore, in 2020, industry and construction in the province increased by 4.5%. This is the premise to diversify revenue sources as well as ensure stable sources of income in the coming years.
However, due to the heavy impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, in 2020, the revenue of the province's tourism industry decreased by 81%. This is the main reason leading to negative growth in the province. In addition, natural disasters in the last months of the year also directly affect the development.

Emulation to complete tasks
According to Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the negative growth rate of 2020 poses many concerns and thoughts for provincial leaders. The biggest concern was to urgently overcome shortcomings and weakness in recent years to facilitate enterprises to restore production and business, creating revenue sources for the budget and creating jobs. The province also adjusted structure and called for investment in other fields, focused on disbursing public investment and building industrial clusters, industrial parks and large factories to create premises for the development.
In order for the society and the economy to develop effectively, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has launched the movement "Emulation to successfully implement the tasks of socio-economic development of the province in 2021". The provincial leadership require agencies, units, localities and enterprises to deploy the emulation movement.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan also asked the units to organize practical and effective emulation movements associated with the implementation of tasks of each unit, effectively implement the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress (term 2020 - 2025) and Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, departments, sectors and localities must focus on developing the economy, mainly restructuring of economic sectors towards improving productivity, growth quality, efficiency and competitiveness, increasing the stamina of the economy. The comprehensive digital transformation, innovation and application of science and technology, administrative reform and the implementation of key projects must speed up.
In addition, in the directive, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigns specific tasks to the Emulation and Commendation Council at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the Department of Home Affairs must improve the quality of emulation and reward to create strong and real change. Commendation must be accurate, timely, public and obvious; promptly find out, propagate and praise advanced examples in the emulation movement, new models and factors to spread in the community in order to encourage patriotic emulation movement.

- Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP): 7.4% up.
- Average GRDP per capita: 73.3 million VND/person.
- Total export turnover: 1,400 million USD, 2.9% up compared to 2020.
- Domestic revenue (excluding land use fees): 1.6% up compared to 2020.
- Total investment capital for development of the whole society: 56,918.4 billion VND, 12% up compared to 2020.
- Reduction in the rate of poor households (according to the poverty standard for the 2016-2020 period): 0.33%.
- The rate of urbanization by 2021: 61%.
- 66.3% of communes meet the new rural standards (61/92 communes).
