Khanh Hoa activates startup ecosystem

The policy of building an innovative startup ecosystem was initiated by the Prime Minister 5 years ago. Recently, for the first time, Khanh Hoa province has built its own startup ecosystem in the province through the Plan to support the construction, development and operation of this ecosystem for the period of 2021 - 2025.

 

Training to be focused

 

 

The plan sets goals for the period of 2021 - 2025 as follows: building and forming 20 experts on consultancy, start-up and innovation; supporting the development of 10 innovative start-up projects; connecting at least 2 venture capital funds; developing 4 innovative start-ups; building 2-3 incubators…

According to Dang Thi Thu Nguyet - Head of Representative Office of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Khanh Hoa (VCCI Khanh Hoa), over the past time, VCCI Khanh Hoa has coordinated with agencies, departments, agencies, mass organizations, institutes and schools in the province to build an innovative startup ecosystem for the province. The unit itself has organized or cooperated with international organizations to organize a series of training courses on innovative start-ups such as finding business ideas for households, students...; starting a business; online, digital marketing skills; business idea; lean business model up to international standards; connecting the ecosystem of universities and colleges in Nha Trang; businessmen’s coffee… Especially, in 2020, the unit has built Nha Trang innovation and start-up incubation center.

 

The center has connected with 6 universities and colleges in the province to support, energize and spread the spirit of start-up and entrepreneurship; inspire, generate business ideas for students, and create seeds in the early stages of developing potential startups. The 2 units have connected with startups in Israel, Japan, the US..., related organizations of the United Nations and countries with a long history of startups such as Finland and Switzerland to build a mentoring network in the province.

 

 

 

 

 

Performing 13 tasks and solutions

 

Recently, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to build and operate the provincial innovation startup ecosystem for the period of 2021 - 2025. Accordingly, the plan focuses on 13 key tasks and solutions such as building and strongly developing information and communication work on innovative start-ups; building a service center to support start-ups and innovation; developing a network of startup clubs; organizing entrepreneurship day events and participate in national and international entrepreneurship festivals; supporting training, and improving knowledge and skills. Besides, seminars and forums at provincial level will be organized; a database of startup consultants will be built;  the role of Khanh Hoa Young Entrepreneurs Association will be promoted; the province's startup community will be supported to participate in the national and international startup - innovation competition...

 

According to the report of the provincial Department of Science and Technology, the project aims to raise awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation for officials, civil servants and public employees in the province; creating a favorable environment through the innovation startup ecosystem; supporting and promoting the idea development process through the activities of startup incubators, startup accelerating center, investment funds for startups, etc.
