This year, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program is joined by 76 products, including typical products of Khanh Hoa such as agarwood, bird's nest and lobster.
In 2021, the whole province has 76 products focused on complete development to meet the criteria and requirements of a provincial OCOP product. According to the implementation plan of the OCOP program in 2021 issued by the Provincial People's Committee on July 26, products focus on 6 groups including: food, beverages, herbs, handicrafts, textiles and rural services.
Along with agricultural products that are gradually asserting quality such as mango, grapefruit, durian, coconut, mushroom, garlic, chili, banana, cantaloupe, rice..., this year, people in Van Thang commune, Van Ninh district have sent agarwood jewelry rings and agarwood incense sticks to participate in the program. In Cam Ranh, famous Binh Ba lobster will be standardized and perfected to become an OCOP product. In Nha Trang, salangane nests and refined salangane nests will also participate in the OCOP program.
According to Huynh Quang Thanh - Director of the Rural Development Sub-Department, 76 products participating in this year's OCOP are in key industry groups with advantages of each locality. These products are standardized in the production process and attached with traditional and unique values of the region to meet the needs and requirements of the market, and consolidating and promoting traditional values in each product.
The OCOP program has been implemented in the province since 2018. After 3 years of implementation, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to recognize a total of 26 provincial OCOP products with 3 stars or more. The average total revenue of these 26 products is 7.5 billion VND/year, up 15% and the average profit is 700 million VND/year, up 10% compared to before participating in the program.
According to the approved plan, the total budget for the implementation of this year's OCOP program is 2.71 billion VND, 2.1 billion VND of which is from the provincial budget, the rest is the reciprocal capital of the participants. This resource is used to implement OCOP cycles in accordance with regulations such as propaganda, registration of ideas, receipt and implementation of business plans, organization of product evaluation, etc. At the same time, some participants will be supported to standardize products with such contents as building trademarks, geographical indications, improving packaging designs... The total provincial budget to support participants is 610 million VND.
In the context of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, which greatly affects the implementation of the OCOP program, it requires more efforts from departments, sectors and localities, especially participants to achieve the goals set by the province in this year's OCOP program plan.
