Based on the application of the project "Building technical measures to grow garlic on sandy coastal areas of Khanh Hoa province" of the Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has deployed application and expanded garlic production in Van Ninh and Ninh Hoa. In 2017, based on the Program to support the development of typical products of the province in the 2016-2020 period, the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town proposed to build a brand of Ninh Van garlic; and the People's Committee of Van Ninh district also proposed to build a brand name of Van Ninh garlic in the form of a science and technology project.

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology chaired a meeting with localities, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and related units to discuss the plan to build, establish and management and use of trademarks for garlic products in Khanh Hoa province.
According to Le Vinh Lien Trang - Director of the Department of Science and Technology, the department is advising on regulations on management and financial mechanisms to serve as a legal basis to organize the implementation of the intellectual property development program of Khanh Hoa province in the period of 2021-2025. After the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Council promulgate relevant mechanisms, the Department of Science and Technology will organize the implementation of building, managing and developing trademarks for garlic products in the period 2021-2025.
